Star Wars VII Actor Mark Hamill goes to DisneyWorld in June, 2014!

For the first time in event history, Mark Hamill, the actor who brought Luke Skywalker to the silver screen in the Star Wars saga, will appear at Star Wars Weekends. Hamill will be one of the celebrity guests for Weekend IV, June 6-8, 2014. Fans can see him in the daily “Legends of the Force” Star Wars-themed motorcade and in a featured talk show.

Hamill’s appearances will most likely be a very popular gathering place for members of the Empire and the Rebellion, so be sure to arrive early.

More details about the event have been placed into the memory systems of an R2-unit and we’ll soon reveal them, but we wanted to share this Force-filled news with you today.

UFO filmed over Gold Coast skies

An unidentified flashing object seen flying over the Gold Coast has been filmed by baffled residents convinced they were being visited upon by extra-terrestrials.

Chevron Island resident Jack Purcell and his mother captured the UFO as it flew in the skies about their house on Thursday night.

“We were all just sitting out the front and my mum pointed to the sky and said ‘look at that colourful plane flying over’,” Mr Purcell said.

“Then it came to a sudden stop and was just hovering there. So I ran inside and grabbed my video camera.”

After notifying authorities, Mr Purcell said the police would “call it in” and sent over a near-by helicopter for a closer look.

However, police were not able to get a proper visual on the UFO because every time they flew in it “would turn its lights off and disappear,” said Mr Purcell who admits…

“It was really strange. I was quite sceptical of these things but it just blew my mind.”

A police spokeswoman said there were no helicopters in the area and believe the UFO was most likely some sort of small drone aircraft.

“Police believe it is a radio controlled device that was flying in the area and not a UFO,” the spokeswoman said.

“If it was anything larger it would have been picked up by the air control radars.”

But Mr Purcell is convinced the truth is still out there.

“I’ve seen drone choppers and they’re not that big whereas this thing was huge”.

Company says it has made an invisibility cloak

A Canadian company says it has made a camouflage material that makes its wearer invisible.

Invisibility cloak

 

Hyperstealth Biotechnology Corp, a Canadian camouflage design company, claims the technology, called Quantum Stealth, works by bending light waves around the wearer.

“The material removes not only your visual, infrared (night vision) and thermal signatures but also the target’s shadow,” Hyperstealth president and CEO Guy Cramer said in a statement on the company’s website.

Mr Cramer said he could not reveal how the material bent light or show photos of it working “for reasons of security”.

Photos published on the website that are described as a “mock up” show a woman lying on grass draped in a material that looks exactly like the grass around her.

Mr Cramer said the US military and two Canadian military groups had tested the material and could vouch for it working “without batteries, lights or mirrors”.

He also claimed to be working with the US military to develop the technology further.

But don’t put one on your Christmas list just yet.

Mr Cramer said he did not expect the material would be made available for sale to the public.

“Not in the near future unless the military decided to release the technology and I don’t anticipate that will happen anytime soon,” he said.
